I had an amazing adventure in Bangkok, Thailand, from September 24 to 26, 2023. Despite going solo, it was a blast, although I felt nervous since it was my first-ever solo international adventure. What's more, I realized that traveling doesn't have to break the bank. I only brought 4000 THB as pocket money, aiming to travel on a budget, and I still had over 1000 BAHT left when I flew back to Kuala Lumpur. That quick trip taught me a lot, especially about becoming independent.
I had a great time exploring Bangkok's wonderful places and immersing myself in the local culture. Initially, my friend and I had planned this trip together, but due to conflicting work schedules, he couldn't join me, even though he'd already paid for everything (unfortunately, he didn't get a refund). The itinerary I created didn't quite work out because of the bad weather during my stay. The trip took place in the last week of September, and heavy rain for two consecutive afternoons and evenings ruined my plans to visit more tourist attractions. I missed out on the floating market and Chocolate Ville.
Nevertheless, here are the places I visited in Bangkok:
Lumphini Park:
Pratunam Night Market:
CentralWorld (and the street food stalls in front of the mall):
Wat Arun:
Grand Palace:
Iconsiam:
Asiatique The Riverfront:
Chinatown:
I might have missed a lot of iconic landmarks and tourist hotspots, but the four days I spent exploring the city's vibrant streets were nothing short of exhilarating. Hence, I'm now craving a grand return to Bangkok - soon, with my little one.
